A cursed, turn-based dungeon crawler with procedural floors, tactical d20 combat, path-traced light, and death without escape.
Dungeon Path Tracer is a first-person, grid-based roguelike where every action advances the turn and every light is traced through the world. Explore procedural floors, fight with tabletop-inspired d20 rules, identify dangerous magic, move torches to reshape the battlefield, and descend before hunger or the creatures in the dark end your run.
You are the Path Tracer. A curse has condemned you to trace an ever-changing route through the dungeon. Death brings you back—but every resurrection erases the path and sends you to the beginning.
Dungeon Path Tracer combines classic grid-based exploration and roguelike combat with a fully path-traced first-person world. Each run creates a new dungeon of rooms and corridors packed with enemies, traps, treasure, equipment and supplies. Search containers, loot fallen creatures, improve your character and find the trapdoor leading deeper below.
Combat is turn-based: moving, attacking, waiting, equipping an item or invoking magic gives the dungeon a chance to answer. Colored potions, inscribed scrolls and strange wands hide their effects until identified or used. Torches cast soft colored light, monsters project shadows, metal reflects the dungeon around it, and illumination bounces naturally through the scene. Light is not only presentation: torches can be moved, and some creatures have good reason to fear them.
Key points
The project began as a LOWREZJAM 2026 entry. Its original 64×64 constraint shaped the visual language; later releases restored selectable resolution and expanded the interface and systems beyond the jam version.
